D. Leonard Lingo, a well known attorney (Ponder & Lingo, Attorneys) and Robert H. Smith, Sr., a farmer and banker, open doors of the Lawrence Insurance Agency in 1948. Lawrence Insurance Agency, Inc. had its beginnings & shared offices with Ponder & Lingo Law Office in Walnut Ridge. Later, we moved into the First National Bank on Main Street, where it remained for many years. As the years progressed, the second generation of family joined the agency. In 1968, Ted Coker was named the managing partner of the Insurance and Real Estate.
