Insurance. We can help!
Insurers in Florida have become stricter in their policy requirements as a result of weather-related claims. Having an experienced home inspector supply you with an accurate Four Point report should be your first line of defense. Application for insurance coverage approval will be based on the findings of this report. A thorough roof, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical inspection will reveal any problems or indicate where repairs are required. Having that information presented properly in the report will help decrease the chances of rejection if issues are found. Most issues are minor and are easily corrected. This is where experience matters. We have 23 years of insurance report writing and know what to say.
Time to save some money!
After you have the Four Point inspection completed and you have insurance, the Wind Mitigation form helps identify construction features of the house that can result in your premiums being lowered. This inspection looks at the roof shape, roof coverings and the doors and windows in the house. We look for how the roof trusses or rafters are attached to the exterior walls. Are there hurricane straps or “clips” that provide extra strength? Are the windows and doors impact rated or are there shutters that can protect them? This is where experience and knowledge is most important. Knowing how to determine the ratings of your building materials is crucial to you saving money. Take advantage of what we know!!
