Now that you have insurance, the Wind Mitigation form can help you save money! This inspection looks at the roof shape, roof coverings and the doors and windows in the house. We look for how the roof trusses or rafters are attached to the exterior walls. Are there hurricane straps or “clips” that fasten the trusses or rafters to the exterior walls? Are there impact rated windows and doors or shutters protecting them from shattering? This is where experience and knowledge is most important.
