Four Point Inspections Get Your House Insured
Insurance companies typically require a four point inspection before issuing a policy. The four points are the roofing, heating/air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems. Some companies now require annual re-inspections of these systems. Avant Home Inspections, LLC has designed a method of informing without alarming. Presenting existing conditions is crucial to getting covered. It allows necessary repairs to be made without getting rejected. This results in a safer, insured home. And getting insurance is all about protecting your home.

Avant Home Inspections, LLC has been performing inspections since 2000, before licensing was instituted in 2010. We have been members of the Nation Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI), the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) and the Florida Association of Building Inspectors (FABI), adhering to the standards of each organization in every respect. Our inspectors pay attention to every detail and prepare a report that is easy to read and understand. There are no check boxes, just simple statements describing any issue or potential issue. There are recommended improvements that make sense. There are plenty of pictures to help understand what is being related. We welcome the opportunity to meet with you at the house or answer questions on the telephone. It is our desire to help you understand how the systems in a house work together and affect each other.
Insurance. You are not alone!
Insurance in the state of Florida is on everyone’s mind. With the recent changes brought about by numerous weather events, insurance companies are becoming more restrictive. Your first line of defense is obtaining an accurate inspection by a knowledgeable inspector. Having a Four Point inspection covering the roof, heating and cooling, plumbing and electrical systems identifies items that are in good condition and those that need improvement. This report will be the basis for getting insurance or being denied. A properly written report will identify to you and the insurance company items that are a concern and logical suggestions in resolving those issues. Then it’s time to save some money!
Time to save some money!
Once the Four Point inspection has been completed, the Wind Mitigation form identifies construction features of the house that can result in discounts on your premiums. The main items of concern are the roof shape, roof age and covering type (shingles, metal) and the openings (windows, doors) in the house. We look for how the roof structure is attached to the exterior walls. Are there hurricane straps or “clips” that provide extra strength? Are there impact rated windows and doors or shutters that cover and protect? This is where experience and knowledge is most important. Knowing how to determine the ratings of your building materials is crucial to you saving money. Put our knowledge to work for you!
